The Morris Grand Theater was built in 1911 by Morris Block, a Russian, Jewish immigrant, who was a jeweler. At that time Hot Springs was one of the premier tourist destinations in our country with the healing warm natural springs and the breathtaking natural resources. Morris took the potential in Hot Springs to build his dream and although he died 2 years after completing the building, it would live on as the host of opera, theater, vaudeville, and movies.
